On February 14, 2020, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia announced that it would not pursue criminal charges against Andrew G. McCabe, the former Acting Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, relating to an Office of the Inspector General referral dating back to April 2018. Since 2018, Schertler Onorato Mead & Sears founding partner David Schertler has vigorously represented Mr. McCabe in the criminal investigation that has now been closed. Mr. Schertler’s representation of Mr. McCabe included multiple factual and legal presentations to high-level officials in both the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the United States Department of Justice urging declination of prosecution. In a statement following the United States Attorney’s Office’s announcement, Mr. Schertler and co-counsel Michael Bromwich said, “At long last, justice has been done in this matter.”
