Schertler & Onorato is pleased to announce that John P. Rowley III, white-collar criminal defense and false claims act litigator, has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Mr. Rowley is an accomplished trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor with more than 25 years’ experience defending white-collar criminal cases and handling complex civil disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rowley was a partner at a global law firm where he specialized in defending individuals and companies in a wide range of white-collar matters, including alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the False Claims Act, and federal procurement laws.
In addition to his extensive private sector experience, Mr. Rowley served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Branch Chief for the Eastern District of Virginia and received the Department of Justice’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance. He also held two additional leadership positions in government: Chief Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Staff Director for the congressionally-mandated U.S. Department of Defense panel created to investigate allegations of misconduct at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Mr. Rowley joins Robert S. Bennett and Hilary Holt LoCicero as the most recent additions to Schertler & Onorato’s robust white-collar criminal defense and government investigations practice.
